Potetbinge, mye poteter på liten plass- Potato bin, lot of potatoes on a little surface

I år så har jeg prøvd noe nytt. Jeg har ordnet en potetbinge for å få masse potet på liten plass. This year I have tried something new. I made a potato bin to grow a lot of potatos on a little surface.

1. Mannen har bygd en kasse som er 1m x 1,5 m og 1 m høy.
   The Man has build a bin with the measurement 1m x 1,5 m and 1 m high.
2. Så fylte vi aviser i bunnen for å dekke over gresset som var der. Innen avisene har råtnet bort er gresset dødt.
   We then covered the ground with newspaper to cover the grass. By the time the newspaper has decayed the grass has died.
3. Så fylte jeg på med 20 cm jord blandet med kukompost.
   The next step is to fill the bin with 20 cm of soil mixed with cow shit compost (probably the wrong word again but you get the idea).
4. Der har jeg satt poteter med groe på med 20 cm avstand til alle sider. On this I put potatoes with chit (sprout) in the distance of 20 cm in all the directions.
5. Fylte så godt på med jord som dekket potetene.
   Then some more soil with cow shit compost, to cover the potatoes.
6. Meningen er at når det vokser så fyller jeg på med jord hele tiden. Jeg må bare passe på at man må ikke dekke planten helt, men la ca 10cm være over bakken. Potetplanten tvinges til å strekke seg gjennom alle lagene med jord og etter hvert vil det komme potetknoller langs hele stengelen. Slik kan man fortsette utover sommeren til bingen er fylt av jord helt til toppen. Og når høsten kommer og det er tid for høsting vil man få en stor avling i forhold til den lille plassen en har brukt. Håper jeg.
   The purpose with this bin is to fill soil on the potato plants all the time it grows. Do not cover all the plant with soil. Always let it be about 10 cm left of the plant over the ground. The potato plant is then forced to grow through all the layers with soil and during this grow the will be potato clods alone the whole stem. Continue like this through all summer until the bin is filled with soil. When the autumn arrives there will be a great harvest with a big crop comparing to the little space you have used. At least I hope so!

Man kan visst gjøre dette med en jordhaug også. Clue er å fylle på jord etter hvert.
You could also do this in just a pile of soil too. The clue is to put on soil as the potato plant grow.
